The information you will be required to submit is similar to that required on previous entry forms.

You may add, delete and change images to your entry at any time up until you pay for the entry, when it becomes Complete. After payment you are not able to add, change or swap images to your entry.

You will pay for your entry by credit or debit card or by PayPal account using our secure checkout system. Once your entry is submitted and paid for, you may log back in to review your entry and to edit artist and image information; however you will not be able to delete or substitute images.

AGREEMENT OF ENTRY AND LIABILITY

  • The entry application and payment will serve as the entrant's agreement to all conditions (including the Waiver) set forth in this prospectus. Entries will be disqualified for failure to follow these instructions.
  • Submitting works of art is no guarantee that the applicant will be accepted into this exhibition.
  • NAWA is not responsible for Copyright protection for images submitted to this exhibition. Copyright protection of images is the responsibility of the artist.

December 18, 2018 - Notice of acceptance posted and emailed

January 15, 2019 - Deadline for shipped work to arrive at shipper

January 27, 2019 - Hand Delivery of work to Gallery

February 1 - 23, 2019 - Exhibition dates.

February 24, 2019 - Hand pick-up. Shipped works sent ASAP.

Eligible Work

  • Exhibition is open to all regular juried in NAWA members. It is NOT open to Associate members, Student members or non-members.
  • Maximum size 32" w X 42" h including frame (no exceptions).
  • No ceiling hung artworks will be accepted. Freestanding sculpture will not be accepted.
  • No sawtooth hangers. All works must be wired to gallery standards and must meet professional
  • Plexiglass required for all works on paper. Exception: pastels can be framed under glass.
  • Accepted works cannot be substituted and must be available for the duration of the exhibition.
  • All works MUST be original - no reproductions or giclee prints.
  • Do not photograph your work in frames.
  • Graphic violence and/or lewd sexual content prohibited. Nudes are acceptable at the discretion of the committee.
  • Work will not be hung if it is damaged in transit. We will notify you immediately if your work arrives damaged.
  • Unframed canvas art work must have the sides painted (not left white).
  • NAWA reserves the right to refuse work not professionally presented. This includes dirt under mats, nicked frames, acidic mats that are discolored, etc.

Image Specifications

All images must be high quality jpeg (jpg) image files. Set your camera to the highest possible quality image, use good lighting on your painting without any glass in front of it, and use a tripod for your camera. You must crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual painting; do not show mat, frame, etc, only the painting itself. Please save at 72 dpi resolution, with a size of 1920 pixels on the longer side of the image (i.e. for a horizontal format, the width should be 1920 pixels; for vertical format, the height will be 1920 pixels; for a square format both dimensions are 1920 pixels.). The upload system will not accept very large files, so you must reduce the native image size to these specifications.

Filename Instructions

Name your image files

Use the following protocol for giving your image file a name for submission: Start with your last name, followed by an underscore, followed by your first initial, followed by another underscore, then the title of the image without spaces, then make sure it has the extension ".jpg".

For example: Carson_R_SilentSpring.jpg.

Shorten long titles in the filename, please, and remove all spaces and quotation marks.

On the entry form in the box for Title do enter the actual title of the piece as you would want it to appear in the show catalogue.

Fee Structure

Online submission deadline is December 10, 2018

Fees for current full NAWA members:
1 or 2 images $45.00, 3 images $50.00

Entry fees will be paid online by credit or debit card or by PayPal account.

Accepted Work: Notification, Delivery, Shipping

Accepted Artists will be listed on the NAWA Facebook page: (www.facebook.com/theNAWA), on www.NAWAonlinegallery.org and www.thenawa.org . An eblast will be sent to all members.

Sales

All accepted artwork shall be offered for sale. A commission of 10% of the sales price shall be retained by NAWA and 40% retained by the Arts Club of Washington. The artist receives 50%. Prices shall remain fixed, and any pieces sold shall remain in the exhibit until final close of show.
